Pallet range

1200 x 1000 mm export pallets

1200 x 1000 mm is the footprint most UK exporters start from. Whether it is the right one depends less on habit than on what the load looks like and what is waiting at the other end.

Where the footprint works well

It gives a square-ish deck that suits a wide range of cartoned and drummed goods, and it is the size most UK handling equipment and racking is set up around. For loads built in the UK and broken down at the destination, it is usually the path of least resistance.

Where it costs you space

Footprint interacts with the vehicle or container, and that is where the decision actually lives. A footprint that loads cleanly into a UK trailer does not automatically give you the best fill in a shipping container, and paying to ship air is a real cost on sea freight. If container utilisation matters on your route, tell us the container type and we will look at the fill rather than defaulting to the familiar size.

The other consideration is the receiving site. Continental customers often work to the 1200 x 800 mm footprint, and a site whose racking, conveyors or AGVs are configured for it may not thank you for a wider pallet.

Treatment is a separate question from size

Footprint has no bearing on whether the movement needs treated and marked wood packaging. That is decided by the material, the destination and whether the pallets are packaging or goods. Settle that first, then choose the size.

No prices are published on this site

Pallet pricing depends on specification, quantity, treatment and collection or delivery point, so we quote against a real enquiry rather than publishing a figure that would be wrong for most people.
